Shibuya Public Hall, Tokyo & Sun Plaza Hall, Tokyo February 1982 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising British-American rock group The Pretenders at the Shibuya Public Hall in Tokyo on 26th February and the Sun Plaza Hall, also in Tokyo, on 27th and 28th February, 1982. Presented by Seijiru Udo’s UDO Artists, the group was touring in support of the Pretenders II album – their second studio album, produced by Chris Thomas, and originally released on 7th August, 1981 on Sire Records. Containing the hit singles “Talk of the Town” and “Message of Love”, the album peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the charts for 19 weeks (3 weeks in top 10). Pretenders II was certified Gold in September 2001 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for selling over 500,000 certified units in the US alone.
The poster measures 51.3 x 73.0 cm (approx. 20.2″ by 28.7″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition with minimal sporadic edge wear.
