Volksbildungsheim, Frankfurt November 1973 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising Canadian jazz pianist and composer Oscar Peterson (1925–2007) at the Volksbildungsheim in Frankfurt [Germany] on Wednesday, 21st November, 1973, presented by Lippmann+Rau. For the tour, Peterson was accompanied by bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and (presumably) drummer Tony Inzalaco. The concert in Frankfurt was part of a fifteen-date German tour during October and November. Billed as “The Big Show”, Peterson had already toured Europe with Count Basie and Ray Charles in September and early October. The poster has been authentically signed by Oscar Peterson in blue ball point to the center of the right side border. The poster features striking uncredited artwork by Günther Kieser.

The poster measures 59.9 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.6″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed in black ink on thin, coated paper stock. Light smudging along the left side border, else in near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
