Fairfield Hall, Croydon February 1968 concert flyer

Original first printing concert flyer advertising American jazz clarinetist and big band leader Woody Herman at the Fairfield Hall in Croydon [England] on Wednesday, 7th February, 1968, presented by Harold Davison. By 1968, the Herman library came to be heavily influenced by rock music. The album Light My Fire was a good example. Recorded at Ter Mar Studios in Chicago and produced by Richard Evans, the album was nominated for a Best Jazz Performance — Large Group. Herman also began to feature brass and woodwind instruments not traditionally associated with jazz, such as the bassoon, oboe or French horn.

The flyer measures 15.9 x 23.2 cm and is beautifully printed in red and black inks on thin, matte-coated paper stock. Complete with the original postal booking form still intact. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
