Grosvenor House Hotel and Royal Albert Hall, London March 1990 concert program
Large original concert program produced for Ella Fitzgerald’s three performances at the Grosvenor House and the Royal Albert Hall in London [England] on 5th, 7th and 8th March, 1990, with the Count Basie Orchestra under the direction of saxophonist Frank Foster, also on the bill. Ella was accompanied by a trio featuring pianist Mike Woffard, bassist Keeter Betts, and drummer Roy McCurdy. She made her last recording in 1989 and her last public performance in 1991 at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Fitzgerald died on 15th June, 1996, at her home in Beverly Hills. In all, Fitzgerald recorded more than 200 albums and some 2,000 songs in her lifetime. Her total record sales exceeded 40 million. Her many accolades included 13 Grammy Awards, the NAACP Image Award for Lifetime Achievement and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
