Seibu Gekijyo, Tokyo March 1978 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster American singer and songwriter Tom Waits’ five concerts at the Seibu Gekijyo in Tokyo [Japan] from 1st to 5th March, 1978, presented by Parco. The Tokyo concerts were the first stops on Waits’ Japanese tour during March in support of the Foreign Affairs album – his fifth studio album, produced by Bones Howe and released on 13th September, 1977 by Asylum Records. The album featured Bette Midler singing a duet with Waits on the brilliant “I Never Talk to Strangers”. Foreign Affairs was not as well received by critics as its predecessor, and unlike Small Change failed to make the Billboard Top 100 album chart. This was his second Japanese tour, having toured Japan for the first time in 1977.

The poster measures 51.2 x 72.7 cm (approx. 20.1″ by 28.6″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. There is a tack hole to each corner, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
