September 1975 Japanese concert tour program
Large original vintage concert program lavishly produced for American R&B and funk group Tower of Power’s September 1975 Japanese tour, presented by Aoyama Music Promotion. The 5-date tour commenced at the Nakana Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo on 18th September and ended at the Festival Hall in Osaka on 25th September, 1975. The tour was a crucial, transitional run that occurred right as the band underwent massive changes in its core sonic architecture. While their late-1974 tour is famous for capturing the definitive Lenny Williams era, the 1975 tour introduced Japanese audiences to a completely different groove to promote their newly released Warner Bros. album, In the Slot. The tour marked the live, international debut of their new lead vocalist, Hubert Tubbs, replacing the departed Lenny Williams.
In original illustrated coated wrappers, staple bound, 25.8 x 36.6 cm, 16 pp. All text in Japanese. Light wear to spine and extremities, else in near excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean.
