Description
November/December 1974 Japanese concert tour program
Large original vintage concert program lavishly produced for American R&B and funk group Tower of Power’s November/December 1974 Japanese tour, presented by Aoyama Music. The 7-date tour commenced at the Nakana Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo on 28th November, and ended at the very same venue on 4th December, 1974. The tour captured the Oakland-based funk and soul juggernaut at the absolute commercial and physical peak of their career. Following the massive success of their self-titled 1973 album and the 1974 release of Back to Oakland, the 10-piece ensemble crossed the Pacific to introduce their heavy, syncopated “East Bay Grease” sound to an incredibly enthusiastic Japanese audience.
In original illustrated coated wrappers, staple bound, 25.7 x 36.5 cm, 20 pp. All text in Japanese. In excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean.
