Theatre Antique, Vienne July 2006 concert poster
Large original first printing concert poster advertising legendary The Who at the Theatre Antique in Vienne [France] on 17th July, 2006, with Casbah Club as special guests. The concert in Vienne was part of the first European leg of The Who’s World Tour in support of the Endless Wire album, commencing at the Knebworth House in Stevenage on 7th June and ending at the Pabellón Principe Felipe in Zaragoza on 29th July, 2006. Produced by Pete Townshend, with Bob Pridden and Billy Nicholls, the album was released on 30th October, 2006 in the UK through Polydor Records and the following day in the US by Universal Republic. It was the band’s first new studio album of original material in twenty-four years following the release of It’s Hard in 1982, as well as their first since the death of the bassist John Entwistle, and their last one for the thirteen years to follow, until the release in December 2019 of their follow-up studio album, Who. Endless Wire received generally positive reviews, and reached #7 on the Billboard 200.
The poster measures 69.7 x 99.7 cm (approx. 27.4″ by 39.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed in red and black inks on thin, uncoated paper stock.
