Circus Krone, Munich May 1981 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising American rock group The Tubes at the Circus Krone in Munich [Germany] on Wednesday, 13th May, 1981, presented by Sunrise Concertbüro in cooperation with KIPKA Management. The concert in Munich was the last stop on a ten-date German tour during May in support of The Completion Backward Principle. Produced by David Foster, the album was released in April 1981 by Capitol Records. It was the band’s sixth studio album, and the first for Capitol Records. It was accompanied by a long form music video release of the same name, although it did not contain all of the songs from the album. It is a concept album presented as a motivational business document, and was a satire of Ronald Reagan’s “Morning in America” corporate movement and included pictures of the band members cleaned up and wearing suits. Containing the two hit singles “Don’t Want to Wait Anymore” and “Talk to Ya Later”, The Completion Backward Principle reached #36 on the Billboard 200, and set the table for their commercial breakthrough, Outside/Inside, two years later.
The poster measures 59.3 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
