1996 Japanese BMG/Arista Records promo poster for “Gone Again”
Original first printing Patti Smith promotional poster issued by BMG/Arista Records Japan in 1996 to promote the release of the Gone Again album, produced by Malcolm Burn and Lenny Kaye, and released on 18th June, 1996. The album featured a version of Bob Dylan’s “Wicked Messenger” as well as her self-penned “About a Boy”, a tribute to Kurt Cobain. Reaching #55 on the Billboard 200, Gone Again was a triumphant come back for Patti Smith, after years of silence. The poster features a striking photo by legendary Annie Leibovitz, with her imprint to the bottom right corner. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
