Grugahalle, Essen October 1980 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising the Rockpalast Festival staged at the Grugahalle in Essen [Germany] on Saturday, 18th October, 1980, featuring Graham Parker and the Rumour, The Police, and Jack Bruce and Friends. By this time, Graham Parker and The Rumour had just released their fifth and final album, The Up Escalator, produced by Jimmy Iovine, while The Police were busy touring in support of their third album, Zenyatta Mondatta. Jack Bruce’s friends were made up of former Colosseum and Humble Pie guitarist Clem Clempson, jazz-fusion drummer Billy Cobham, and keyboard player David Sancious, formerly a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band.
