January/February 1977 German concert tour poster (Günther Kieser)

Large original first printing concert poster advertising English rock group Procol Harum’s German tour during January and February 1977 in support of the Something Magic album. By this time, Procol Harum was running out of steam. After the release of Procol’s Ninth, Alan Cartwright left in July of 1976, while the rest of the band went into the studio to record Something Magic. Produced by Ron and Howie Albert, the album was largely dismissed by the critics. It sold poorly, peaking at #147 on the Billboard 200, and the band decided to break up at the end of their Spring 1977 promotional tour. A farewell concert was staged at New York’s Academy of Music on 15th May, 1977. The poster features striking artwork by Günther Kieser.

The poster measures 59.9 x 83.5 cm (approx. 23.6″ by 32.9″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
