Stadthalle, Rosenheim September 1989 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising Canadian jazz pianist and composer Oscar Peterson (1925–2007) at the Stadthalle in Rosenheim [Germany] on Thursday, 14th September, 1989, presented by MAMA Concerts and Lippmann+Rau, and accompanied by Canadian bassist Steve Wallace (1956) and American drummer Bobby Durham (1937–2008). Called the “Maharaja of the keyboard” by Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson released over 200 recordings and won eight Grammy Awards in a career lasting more than 60 years. He died of kidney failure at his home in Mississauga, Ontario, on 23rd December, 2007, aged 82.
The poster measures 42.0 x 59.5 cm (approx. 16.5″ by 23.4″ inches) and is beautifully printed in purple and black inks on medium-thin, coated paper stock.
