Colston Hall, Bristol October 1959 concert flyer
Original first printing concert flyer advertising American jazz trombonist Kid Ory at the Colston Hall in Bristol [England] on Friday, 30th October, 1959, presented by Charles H. Lockier by arrangement with Harold Davison. Ory was accompanied by a band that featured trumpeter Henry “Red” Allen, clarinetist Bob McCracken, bassist William Girsback, drummer Alton Redd, and pianist Cedric Haywood. The show in Bristol was part of a long European tour that continued through October and early November, visiting Austria, France, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium and Italy, en route.
The flyer measures 14.7 x 22.8 cm (approx. 8.8″ by 9″ inches) and is beautifully printed in red and black inks on thin, dull-coated paper stock. Complete with the original postal booking form still intact. Folded horizontally at the middle, else in remarkably near excellent condition.
