City Public Hall, Nagoya March 1975 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising pianist Roland Hanna’s New York Jazz Quartet at the City Public Hall in Nagoya [Japan] on Saturday, 29th March, 1975, presented by All Art in cooperation with King Records and Trio Records. By this time, the line-up had changed to feature bassist Ron Carter, drummer Ben Riley, and saxophonist and flutist Frank Wess. For the Japanese tour the Quartet was joined by singer Betty Carter and guitarist Kenny Burrell. The album In Concert In Japan, produced by Ron Carter and released by Salvation Records, was recorded on this tour.
The poster measures 51.3 x 72.7 cm (approx. 20.2″ x 28.6″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. There are a number of faint horizontal crease lines running from left to right as well as a tack hole to each corner, and a couple of closed rips to the borders.
