Considered a defining work of the postwar beat and counter culture generations, On the Road was originally published by Viking Press on 5th September, 1957. The novel was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005, and the Modern Library ranked the book 55th on its list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.

Crown octavo (8vo), 324 pp. In original smooth finish uncoated illustrated wrappers. All edges of the text block are untrimmed and unstained. Published in the uncut state. Light wear to spine and extremities, so common with this edition. Spine slightly faded. Additional photos available on request.
