1973 Japanese A&M Records promo poster

Large original first printing Quincy Jones promotional poster issued by A&M Records in Japan in the early 1970s, presumably 1973 to coincide with Quincy’s April 1973 Japanese tour. The 8-date tour commenced at the Kosei Nenkin Hall in Tokyo on 20th April and ended at the Welfare Pension Hall in Osaka on 28th April, 1973. Quincy’s orchestra for the Japanese tour featured bassists Ray Brown and Philip Upchurch; pianist Dave Grusin; drummer and vocalist Grady Tate; saxophonists Jerome Richardson, Lewis Tabackin, Anthony Ortega, Herman Riley and William Hood; trumpeters Clark Terry, Bobby Bryant, Oscar Brashear, Dalton Smith, Alan Hart Casagrande and Robert Payne; trombonists Benny Powell, Maurice Spears and Frank Rosolino; guitarist and harmonica player Toots Thielemans; and singer Blinkie Williams. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 59.3 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent condition, clean and unfolded. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
