Kanagawa Kenritsu Ongakudo, Yokohama April 1977 concert flyer
Original first printing double-sided concert flyer advertising the Jay Jay Johnson/Nat Adderley Quintet at the Kanagawa Kenritsu Ongakudo in Yokohama [Japan] on Wednesday, 20th April, 1977. Besides the two leaders, the Quintet featured drummer Kevin Johnson, bassist Tony Dumas, and pianist Billy Childs. The concert was recorded and released as The Yokohama Concert the following year. Produced by Norman Granz and released by Pablo Records, it was Johnson’s first recording in eight years. He had spent much of the 1965-76 period working nearly full-time as an arranger/composer.
The flyer measures 18.3 x 26.0 cm (approx. 7.2″ by 10.2″ inches) and is printed on thin, coated paper stock. Neatly folded twice horizontally, else in near excellent condition.
