1975 Japanese ECM Records promo poster
Large original first printing Keith Jarrett (1945) promotional poster issued by ECM Records in Japan in the mid-1970s, presumably around 1975 and the release of The Köln Concert album – a live solo double album, recorded at the Opera House in Cologne [Germany] on 24th January, 1975, and released on Manfred Eicher’s ECM label on 30th November, 1975. It became the best-selling solo album in jazz history and the best-selling piano album with sales of around 4 million units. In 2000, The Köln Concert was voted number 357 in Colin Larkin’s All Time Top 1000 Albums and was also included in Robert Dimery’s book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Trio Records was a Japanese record label founded in 1969 by the Kasuga brothers. For what it’s worth, the ECM catalog was manufactured in Japan by Trio Records. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 83.8 x 59.2 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on medium-thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. Small rust spot to the top right corner, else in excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
