Simple Insurance Hall, Gotanda September 1984 concert tour poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz trumpeter Freddie Hubbard at the Simple Insurance Hall in Gotanda [Japan] on Thursday, 27th September, 1984, accompanied by tenor saxophonist Ricky Ford, pianist Kenny Barron, bassist Buster Williams, and drummer Joe Chambers. With Ford, Barron, Chambers and bassist Cecil McBee, Hubbard recorded The Rose Tattoo at the Van Gelder Studio on 9th and 10th December, 1983. Produced by Fumimaru Kawashima and Makoto Kimata, the album was released in 1984 on the Japanese Baystate label. In 2006, the National Endowment for the Arts accorded Hubbard its highest honor in jazz, the NEA Jazz Masters Award. Hubbard died on 29th December 29, 2008, aged 70.

The poster measures 51.4 x 72.7 cm (approx. 20.2″ by 28.6″ inches) and is printed on thin, coated paper stock.
