Palais de Chaillot, Paris September 1953 concert program


Original vintage concert program for American vibraphonist, pianist, percussionist, and bandleader Lionel Hampton’s two concerts at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris on 26th & 27th September, 1953. The Paris shows were part of an extended European tour with arguably the finest bunch of musicians Hamp has ever assembled. The orchestra at the time included trumpeters Clifford Brown, Art Farmer and Quincy Jones, trombonist James Cleveland, tenor Clifford Scott, and pianist George Wallington.

In original, pink and dark blue glossy wrappers, staple bound, 20.8 x 27.0 cm, 12 pp. Program notes in French by Frank Tenot. Wraps are slightly rubbed with light wear to spine and extremities and a vertical fold line running down the middle of the program. Additional photos available on request.
