Schwabinger Bräu, Munich June 1981 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising British rock group Gillan at the Schwabinger Bräu in Munich [Germany] on Monday, 29th June, 1981, presented by MAMA Concerts in cooperation with Karsten Jahnke. Gillan were touring in support of the Future Shock album — the band’s fourth studio album, produced by the band themselves and released in March 1981 on Virgin Records. Containing the singles “New Orleans” and “No Laughing in Heaven”, the album reached #2 on the UK Album Charts. It was during this tour that guitarist Bernie Tormé left the band, citing frustration over a lack of money despite the success the band was seeing. For the remainder of the tour, including the show in Munich, Tormé was replaced by Janick Gers.

The poster measures 59.2 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition, with very light edge wear to the upper right side border. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
