Description
October/November 1977 Japanese concert tour program
Large original concert program produced for Irish rock guitarist and singer Rory Gallagher’s October/November 1977 Japanese tour, presented by Seijiru Udo’s UDO Artists. The 9-date tour commenced at the City Public Hall in Nagoya on 25th October and ended with both an afternoon and an evening concert at Tokyo’s Sun Plaza Hall on 5th November, 1977. Gallagher was touring in support of the Calling Card album – his sixth studio album, produced by Gallagher himself with Roger Glover, and originally released in October 1976 on Chrysalis Records. It was his second of four albums released on Chrysalis in the 1970s and the last to feature drummer Rod de’Ath and keyboard player Lou Martin. After the Japanese tour, Gallagher retained only his long-time bass guitarist Gerry McAvoy and hired Ted McKenna on drums. This revised power trio was Gallagher’s line up from early 1978 until 1980.
