1984 Japanese MCA Records/Victor Records promotional poster for “The Allnighter”
Large original first printing Glenn Frey promotional poster issued by MCA Records/Victor in Japan in 1984 to promote the release of The Allnighter – Frey’s second studio album, produced by Barry Beckett and Allan Blazek, and originally released on 19th June, 1984 on MCA Records in the Unites States, four years after the demise of the Eagles. Containing the hit singles “Smuggler’s Blues” and Sexy Girl”, the album was Frey’s most successful solo album. It reached #22 on the Billboard 200, and was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales exceeding 500,000 copies in the US alone. The single “Smuggler’s Blues” helped to inspire the Miami Vice episode of the same name, and Frey was invited to star in that episode, which was Frey’s acting debut. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 58.3 x 83.6 cm (approx. 22.9″ by 32.9″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
