Hammersmith Odeon, London May 1968 concert flyer

Large original first printing concert flyer advertising American singer Aretha Franklin (1942–2018) at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on Sunday, 12th May, 1968, presented by Arthur Howes. In May 1968 Aretha Franklin embarked on her first-ever European tour, kicking off in Stockholm, Sweden on 2nd May. It was only a year since she had switched record companies and exploded into fame with a string of top-ten hits that have since become classics. Her third album with Atlantic Records, Lady Soul, had just come out and Franklin was at the top of her form, sweeping virtually every award in the record industry.

The flyer measures 14.1 x 27.3 cm (approx. 5.5″ by 10.7″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, dull-coated paper stock. Complete with the original postal booking form still intact. Folded thrice horizontally with with a couple of staple holes to the top. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
