Stadthalle, Offenbach May 1979 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising Ian Dury & The Blockheads at the Stadthalle in Offenbach [Germany] on Tuesday, 15th May, 1979, presented by Interteam. This was Dury’s second German tour in support of the New Boots and Panties!! album, having already toured during November 1978. Produced by Peter Jenner and Laurie Latham, the album was released on 30th September, 1977 on Stiff Records. The title derives from Dury’s habit of buying clothes second hand, and refers to the only items he insisted on buying new. In 2000 Q magazine placed it at #66 in its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever. Ian Dury died of metastatic colorectal cancer on 27th March, 2000 at the age of 57.
The poster measures 59.6 x 84.2 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33.1″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin smooth-finish uncoated paper stock.
