Jahrhunderthalle, Frankfurt May 1973 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American rock and roll pianist and singer Fats Domino at the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt [Germany] on Monday, 7th May, 1973, presented by Lippmann+Rau in association with Robert Paterson. The concert in Frankfurt was the first stop on seven-date German tour during May, the others being Düsseldorf (8th May), Kamen (11th May), Berlin (12th May), Munich (13th May), Stuttgart (14th May) and Hamburg (15th May). One of the pioneers of rock and roll music, Domino sold more than 65 million records in his time. Between 1955 and 1960, he had eleven Top 10 hits. During his career, Domino had 35 records in the Billboard Top 40, and five of his pre-1955 records sold more than a million copies, being certified gold. His musical style was based on traditional rhythm and blues, accompanied by saxophones, bass, piano, electric guitar, and drums. His 1949 release “The Fat Man” is widely regarded as the first million-selling rock and roll record. Two of his most famous songs are “Ain’t That A Shame” and “Blueberry Hill”.

The poster measures 60.0 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.6″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
