1988 Japanese Atlantic Records promotional poster for “American Dream”
Original first printing Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young promo poster issued by Atlantic Records in Japan in 1988 to promote the release of the American Dream album –the fifth studio album by Crosby, Stills & Nash, and their second with Neil Young. Produced by Niko Bolas, the album was originally released on 1st November, 1988 on Atlantic Records. Containing the singles “American Dream,” and “Got It Made”, the album reached #16 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 22 weeks. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in January 1989 for sales exceeding 1,000,000 copies in the US alone. It turned out to be the highest-selling album by Neil Young in the 1980s. The album is dedicated to Jan Crosby, Anne Stills, Susan Nash and Pegi Young. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 76.0 x 50.8 cm (approx. 30″ by 20″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Light overall surface handling wear, else in near excellent unfolded condition.
