1978 Japanese Concord Jazz/Toshiba EMI promotional poster
Original first printing Concord Jazz All Stars promotional poster issued by Concord Jazz/Toshiba EMI in Japan in 1978. The All Stars toured Japan during September 1978 and featured tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton, pianist Ross Tompkins, bassist Monty Budwig, drummer Jake Hanna, guitarist Cal Collins, and trumpeter and flugelhornist Warren Vaché. Concord Jazz is a record company and label founded in 1973 by Carl Jefferson. The label was named after the city in the East San Francisco Bay area, and the jazz festival which Jefferson also began. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 72.6 x 51.1 cm (approx. 28.6″ by 20.1″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock.
