Deutsches Museum, Munich May 1975 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz drummer, composer and bandleader Billy Cobham at the Deutsches Museum in Munich [Germany] on Tuesday, 27th May, 1975, presented by Lippmann+Rau in cooperation with Rüdiger Hoffmann’s Stimmen der Welt. Cobham was touring Europe in support of the Total Eclipse album, his third solo album, recorded at Atlantic Recording Studios and Electric Lady Studios in New York City and produced by Cobham himself with Ken Scott. Released in December 1974 by Atlantic Records, the album peaked at #6 on the Billboard Jazz album charts, #12 on the R&B album charts and #36 on the Billboard 200. Cobham’s touring band featured saxophonist Michael Brecker, trumpeter Randy Brecker, trombonist Glenn Ferris, Bulgarian pianist Milcho Leviev, bassist Alex Blake, and guitarist John Scofield. Generally acclaimed as fusion’s greatest drummer, Billy Cobham was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Classic Drummer Hall of Fame in 2013.
