Wartburg Music Hall, Wiesbaden March 1979 concert poster

Large original first printing concert poster advertising American rock group Cheap Trick at the Wartburg in Wiesbaden [Germany] on Monday, 5th March, 1979, in support of Heaven Tonight, the band’s third studio album, produced by Tom Werman and released on 24th May, 1978 on Epic Records. Featuring the hit single “Surrender”, Heaven Tonight is considered Cheap Trick’s best album. While their debut album, Cheap Trick, showed the band’s darker, rawer side and In Color explored a lighter, more pop-oriented persona, Heaven Tonight combined both elements to produce a hook-filled pop-rock album with an attitude. For what it’s worth, Heaven Tonight is also known as the first album ever recorded with a 12-string electric bass.

The poster measures 59.1 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. Neatly folded twice, else in excellent condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
