Grugahalle, Essen November 1991 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American singer and musician Ray Charles (1930–2004) at the Grugahalle in Essen [Germany] on Friday, 8th November, 1991, presented by Klaus Goik. The show in Essen was part of a lengthy European tour during October, November and December, commencing at the Austria Center in Vienna on 30th October. Widely regarded as one of the most iconic and influential singers in history, and often referred to by contemporaries as “The Genius”, Ray Charles died at his home in Beverly Hills, California, of complications resulting from liver failure on 10th June, 2004, aged 73.
