Royal Festival Hall, London May 1970 concert program
Original vintage concert program produced for Tony Bennett and Count Basie’s joint performance at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Saturday, 16th May, 1970, presented by Harold Davison. Bennett and Basie had toured Britain the previous year with great success and was re-booked for a return. I believe this was a one-off show since Basie was busy touring with Ella Fitzgerald during April and with his own orchestra during May. Original ticket stub for the concert laid in.
In original orange and black uncoated pictorial wrappers, staple bound, 20.9 x 25.7 cm, 20 pp. Program notes by Peter Clayton. Light wear to spine and extremities and back wrapper slightly faded, else tightly bound and clean without further markings. Additional photos available on request.
