September 1956 Swedish concert tour program
Original vintage concert program for American jazz pianist, composer and bandleader Count Basie’s September 1956 Swedish tour, presented by Estrad. In 1956, the still fairly new Basie Orchestra was making its only second tour of Europe and its first since 1954. During the preceding two years the line-up had solidified, and the band had new hits in like “April In Paris” and “Shiny Stockings”.
In original orange and black photographical matte-coated wrappers, staple bound, 20.8 x 28.2 cm, 8 pp. Program notes in Swedish by Carl-Erik Lindgren. Near fine, tightly bound and clean without any markings. Additional photos available on request.
