1978 Japanese Discomate Records promo poster
Large original first printing ABBA promotional poster issued by Discomate Records in Japan in 1978, presumably to promote the release of the “Eagle” single, which featured identical artwork on the sleeve. Written and produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, the single was released on 18th May, 1978 and was meant as a tribute to American rock band The Eagles. Critics have hailed “Eagle” as one of ABBA’s more outstanding tracks in terms of lyrics. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 59.2 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, dull-coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
