Royal Festival Hall, London March 1974 concert flyer

Original first printing concert flyer advertising the Jacques Loussier Trio at the Royal Festival Hall in London [England] on Saturday, 16th March, 1974, presented by Robert Paterson. Well known for his jazz interpretations in trio formation of many of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works, Loussier formed the Jacques Loussier Trio in 1959 with double bass player Pierre Michelot (1928—2005) and drummer Christian Garros (1920—1988). They used Bach’s compositions as a base for jazz improvisation and had many live appearances, tours, and concerts, as well as a number of recordings. Originally the trio recorded for Decca Records but in 1973 changed to Philips/Phonogram. The trio sold over six million albums in 15 years. Their most famous recording is “Air on the G String”  which was used for the Hamlet cigar advertisements in the UK for over 35 years.

The flyer measures 18.8 x 23.0 cm and is beautifully printed in pink and black inks on thin, matte-coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Photo of the back of the flyer available on request.
