1981 Japanese Alfa/A&M Records promo poster for “Made in America”

Large original first printing Carpenters promotional poster issued by Alfa/A&M Records in Japan in 1981, presumably to promote the sales of the Made in America album, the duo’s tenth studio album, produced by Richard Carpenter, and originally released in June 1981 on A&M Records. Karen Carpenter died less than two years later, making it their final album released in her lifetime. Containing the hit single “Touch Me When We’re Dancing”, the album peaked at #52 on the Billboard 200. In the UK, the album reached #12 on the UK Album Chart and was certified Silver by the BPI  for sales exceeding 60,000 copies. The poster was promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 59.3 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.3 by 33 inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Light foxing (age related dots) to the bottom white portion of the poster, else in excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
