Fairfield Hall, Croydon January 1970 concert flyer
Large original first printing concert handbill advertising American blues and boogie band Canned Heat at the Fairfield Hall in Croydon [England] on Sunday, 25th January, 1970, presented by John and Tony Smith, and with Keith Relf’s Renaissance as special guests. The concert in Croydon was part of Canned Heat’s nationwide tour of Great Britain during January 1970 in support of Hallelujah — the band’s fourth album, produced by Skip Taylor, and released on 8th July, 1969 on Liberty Records. It was the last album to feature the classic line-up of Bob Hite, Alan Wilson, Henry Vestine, Larry Taylor, and Fito de la Parra. The album Canned Heat ’70 Concert Live in Europe was recorded on the UK tour, and featured new guitarist Harvel Mandel, replacing Henry Vestine, who had left the band in 1969.
The flyer measures 14.0 x 25.3 cm (approx. 5.5″ by 10″ inches) and is beautifully printed in green and black inks on thin, yellow dull-coated paper stock (coated on front only). Complete with the original postal booking form still intact. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item.
