Colston Hall, Bristol October 1970 concert flyer
Original first printing concert flyer advertising English progressive rock group Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the Colston Hall in Bristol [England] on Monday, 19th October, 1970, presented by Joan and Tony Smith in association with Robert Stigwood. From September 1970 to March 1971, the band completed their first concert tour with shows across the UK, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In the months surrounding their debut gigs, ELP recorded their first album, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, at Advision Studios in London. Greg Lake took on the role as producer, which he had also done in King Crimson, with Eddy Offord as their engineer. Containing the single “Lucky Man”, the album was released on 20th November, 1970, reaching #4 on the UK Albums Chart and #18 on the Billboard 200.
The flyer measures 15.0 x 25.9 cm (approx. 5.9″ by 10.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Complete with the original postal booking form still intact.
