Description
March 1963 New Zealand concert tour program
Original vintage concert program produced for Louis Armstrong’s March 1963 tour of New Zealand, presented by Harry M. Miller, and with Afro-Cuban jazz and Lain jazz pianist and composer Eddie Cano (1927–1988) also on the bill. The All Stars for the tour featured trombonist Trummy Young, pianist Billy Kyle, bassist Arvell Shaw, drummer Danny Barcelona, clarinetist Joe Darensbourg, and singer Jewel Brown. I believe this was the only time Armstrong toured New Zealand.
In original blue and black illustrated coated wrappers, staple bound, 21.9 x 28.5 cm, 28 pp. Light wear to spine and extremities, else in excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the program available on request.
