City Hall, Fukuoka June 1973 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Miles Davis (1926–1991) at the City Hall in Fukuoka [Japan] on Thursday, 28th June, 1973, presented by Kelly. The concert was part of Miles’ June/July 1973 Japanese tour, in support of On the Corner — a studio album, produced by Teo Macero and released on 11th October, 1972 by Columbia Records. The band for the tour featured Dave Liebman (ss, ts, fl); Pete Cosey (g, perc); Reggie Lucas (g); Michael Henderson (el-b); Al Foster (d); and James Mtume Forman (cga, perc). Never seen another one of these.
The poster measures 51.5 x 73.0 cm (approx. 20.3″ by 28.7″ inches) and is beautifully printed on medium-thin, gloss-coated paper stock.
