1982 Japanese CBS/Sony Inc. promo poster for “The Nylon Curtain”

Large original first printing Billy Joel promotional poster issued by CBS/Sony Inc. in Japan in 1982 to promote the release of The Nylon Curtain – Joel’s eighth studio album, produced by Phil Ramone, and released on 23rd September, 1982. Containing the singles “Pressure”, “Allentown”, and “Goodnight Saigon”, the album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 and was certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for selling over 2,000,000 certified units. For what it’s worth, The Nylon Curtain was one of the first albums to be digitally recorded, mixed, and mastered. The poster features a striking photo of Joel credited to Hiro Ita, with the artist’s imprint to the bottom right corner. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 58.4 x 82.6 cm (approx. 23″ by 32.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
