Original first printing concert poster advertising English singer, songwriter, and musician David Bowie (1947–2016) at the Ruhrlandstadion in Bochum [Germany] on Wednesday, 15th June, 1983, presented by Lippmann+Rau in cooperation with HPS Promotion. The concert in Bochum was part of Bowie’s extensive Serious Moonlight Tour in support of the Let’s Dance album, kicking off with two concerts at the Forest National in Brussels on 18th and 19th May and ending with three consecutive shows at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes from 1st to 3rd July, 1983. The tour was a high point of commercial success for Bowie, who found his new popularity perplexing. Recorded at the Power Station in New York and produced by Bowie and Nile Rodgers, Let’s Dance was released on 14th April, 1983, by EMI America. It was Bowie’s fifteenth studio album, and the title track became one of his biggest hit singles, reaching #1 in the UK and US. Further singles included “Modern Love” and “China Girl”, which both reached #2 in the UK.
The poster measures 59.2 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed in blue ink on thin, coated paper stock.
