Original first printing concert poster advertising American blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist John Lee Hooker at the Tempodrom in Berlin [Germany] on Sunday, 1st July, 1990, presented by Concert Concept. Hooker was touring Europe with his Coast to Coast Blues Band in support of The Healer — an album produced by Roy Rogers and released in September 1989 by Chameleon. The album features collaborations with Bonnie Raitt, Charlie Musselwhite, Los Lobos, and Carlos Santana, among others. It peaked at #62 on the Billboard 200 and “I’m in the Mood” won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Performance. Hooker was 73 years of age when the album was released and it was his first Grammy win. The album had such success that it permitted him to live out the end of his life in comfort.
