February/March 1959 UK concert tour program (2nd British Tour)
Original concert program produced for Louis Armstrong’s Feb/March 1959 British tour, presented by Harold Davison, and with Alex Welsh also on the bill. This was Satchmo’s 2nd nationwide tour of Great Britain, commencing at Gaumont State in Kilburn on 28th February and ending at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester on 11th March, 1959. The All Stars for the European tour featured trombonist Trummy Young, clarinetist Peanuts Hucko, pianist Billy Kyle, bassist Mort Herbert, drummer Danny Barcelona, and singer Velma Middleton.
In original illustrated uncoated wrappers, staple bound, 20.8 x 26.6 cm, 20 pp. Program notes by Jeff Adlam. In excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
