June 1975 Japanese concert tour program

Original concert program book lavishly produced for American jazz singer Anita O’Day’s extensive 16-date Japanese tour during June 1975, accompanied by drummer John Poole, bassist George Morrow, and pianist Merrill Hoover. With her touring band, O’Day recorded My Ship at the Mouri Studios in Tokyo on 30th June, immediately after the Japanese tour had ended. It was one in a string of six albums made while performing in Japan during the mid-’70s. Released on her own label, Emily Records, these were done as she was returning to the stage after a bout with drugs and alcohol.

In original illustrated coated wrappers, staple bound, 22.8 x 29.6 cm, 24 pp. All text in Japanese. In excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean. Appears unread. Additional images of the program available on request.
