Description
Erroll Garner 1968 French art poster designed by Francis Paudras
Original first printing Erroll Garner art poster designed by legendary French jazz enthusiast and graphic designer Francis Paudras (1935–1997) in 1967 and issued by psychophot in 1968. Paudras, who was a close friend of jazz pianist Bud Powell, had his own design studio in Paris during the 1960’s. Living on a modest income he spent much of it on his passion for jazz. Obssessed with Powell’s genius, his relationship with the pianist went beyond that of artist and devoted fan, however, and Paudras became his effective guardian and unofficial manager for a period in 1962-64.
The poster measures 59.5 x 79.7 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 31.4″ inches) and is beautifully printed in black ink on medium-thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. There are a number of very faint horizontal crease lines running from left to right and one or two surface marks, else in near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
