Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo June 1967 concert flyer

Original first printing concert flyer advertising American jazz pianist and composer Erroll Garner (1923–1977) at the Koseinenkin Hall in Tokyo [Japan] on Tuesday, 20th June, 1967, accompanied by bassist Eddie Calhoun and drummer Kelly Martin, and presented by United Orient Promotions. This was around the time of the release of That’s My Kick — Garner’s first traditional studio album in five years and perhaps his most ambitious album ever as a composer. The selections were surely inspired by the new array of musicians assembled for the sessions, including percussionist José Mangual, who would go on to play with Garner for rest of his career. A brilliant virtuoso who sounded unlike anyone else, Erroll Garner was one of the most distinctive of all jazz pianists. He died from lung cancer on 2nd January, 1977.

The flyer measures 18.3 x 25.8 cm and is printed on thin, matte-coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded  and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
