January/February 1975 Japanese concert tour program
Large original vintage program book lavishly produced for the Miles Davis Septet’s Jan/Feb 1975 Japanese tour, in support of Get Up with It — a compilation album of songs Miles had recorded in sessions between 1970 and 1974, including those for the studio albums Jack Johnson (1971) and On the Corner (1972). Produced by Teo Macero, the album was released 22nd November, 1974 on Columbia Records. For the Japanese tour Miles was accompanied by Sonny Fortune (ss, as, fl); Pete Cosey (g, perc); Reggie Lucas (g); Michael Henderson (el-b); Al Foster (d); James Mtume Forman (cga, perc) — a line up that would be responsible for recording the Agharta album.
In original, red and black pictorial coated wrappers, staple bound, 25.5 x 36.4 cm, 28 pp. All text in Japanese. Light wear to spine and extremities, else in near excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
