Frankenhalle, Nuremberg May 1987 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising Neil Young & Crazy Horse at the Frankenhalle in Nuremberg [Germany] on Thursday, 7th May, 1987, in support of the Landing on Water album — Young’s fifteenth studio album, produced by Danny Kortchmar and released on 21st July, 1986 on Geffen Records. Several of the songs on the album were resurrected from Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s failed 1984 sessions – a set of sessions where, according to longtime producer David Briggs, the musicians “played like monkeys”. Landing on Water came after Young settled out of court a lawsuit from Geffen Records, who had sued Young for $3.3 million, on the grounds that Young’s mid-’80s records were non-commercial and musically uncharacteristic. Later, David Geffen would personally apologize to Young for the lawsuit and interfering with his work.

The poster measures 59.2 x 83.6 cm (approx. 23.3 by 32.9 inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
